Diver Training

If you,re 14 or over and you've successfully completed "Experience SCUBA" you can progress on to the BSAC diver training courses.

Ocean Diver 

Ocean diver is the first formal driver course. 
The  course consists of:  7 classroom theory lessons, a theory test,  5  pool lessons, 5 open  water dive lessons plus a minimum of 120 minutes underwater experience.

Sports  Diver 

Sports Diver consists of:  6 theory lessons, a classroom theory test,  1  pool lessons, 5 open  water dive lessons plus a minimum of 150 minutes underwater experience.

Skill Development Courses

Additional training courses are available for: First Aid for Divers, Life Saver, Boat Handling, Oxygen Administration, VHF Radio Operation and many more.

Higher Qualifications 

BSAC diver qualifications are arranged to progressively expand your knowledge and experience. to Dive Leader, Advanced Diver and First Class Diver.

Trainer Courses 

The BSAC provide many trainer courses: Instructor foundation course (IFC), Theory Instructor Exam (TIE),  Open Water Instructor course (OWIC), Practical Instructor Exam (PIE), Advanced Instructor course (AIC)  and National Instructor exam (NIE).

UK Sports Diver Medical form

To become a member of Hyndburn BSAC, you need to fill in a UK Sports Diver Medical form to satisfy the BSAC you are fit to dive. This is a simple self declaration form completed by you; there's no need to visit a doctor.

Fees

Club membership is £180 for the first year, and subsequently £65 a year renewal.

  • Membership of the British Sub-Aqua Club
  • Third party insurance.
  • BSAC Dive, Monthly Magazine
  • The Diving Manual
  • Student work book, including first two packs Ocean Diver & Sports diver
  • Qualification Record Book (QRB)
  • Red Log Book for recording open water dives
