from the club? The opportunity to become proficient in the use of scuba diving equipment in the pool and both fresh and Seawater. Training is free of charge to members of the club and in 3 to 4 months you should expect to reach the first level of diver skill, Club Diver. You are required to be over 18 years or over 14 with written parent consent. Once you decide to join our club You will need to sign a declaration that you are physically fit for the sport and pay your initial joining fee and annual subscription £180 the first year and £60 subsequently. Once a member you will have access to all the club facilities and training, you will also start to receive the national monthly Diver magazine. Prior to your training you will have shown that you have basic swimming ability in order to start the club diver course. You will need to attend eight theory lessons, a written theory test, five pool lessons, a pool assessment, five open water dives and an open water diver assessment. All the theory and pool sessions will be in Great Harwood. The open water training is in the Lancashire area. From this point you can join in club dives and progress further. Initially you need: Mask Fins and Snorkel. When training in the pool you will need Scuba equipment this can be hired from us. Open water will require you to buy a suit for warmth; advice will be given to you during the theory sessions on what to look for. They cost around £200 and upward. You will also need Scuba equipment with ABLJ and weights this can be hired from us. When you decide to buy your own Tank, Valve, ABLJ and Weights etc budget for £600-700.
